
SUPREME COURT REVOKES FRED AJUDUA’S BAIL, ORDERS PRISON RETURN
The Supreme Court has upheld the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission’s (EFCC) appeal against the bail granted to socialite Fred Ajudua, who is facing trial for allegedly defrauding a Palestinian national of $1,043,000. The apex court ordered Ajudua’s immediate return to prison custody and directed the Lagos State High Court to resume proceedings in the case.

Justice Chioma Nwosu-Iheme, delivering the lead judgment, stated that the Court of Appeal erred in granting bail to Ajudua despite finding his brief of argument incompetent and striking it out. The Supreme Court ruled that the lower court had no jurisdiction to consider other issues in the appeal after declaring the brief incompetent .
