NCDMB EXECUTIVE SECRETARY FELIX OGBE LAUDS MINISTER EKPERIKPE EKPO AS NEW GECF PRESIDENT

GREATRIBUNETVNEWS–The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, has congratulated the Honourable Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas) and Co‑Chairman of the NCDMB Governing Council, Rt. Hon. Ekperikpe Ekpo, on his election as President of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF).
Engr. Ogbe called the appointment a well‑deserved recognition of Ekpo’s visionary leadership, deep industry expertise, and relentless drive to position Nigeria as a global gas powerhouse. He highlighted that under Ekpo’s stewardship, Nigeria has achieved notable progress—accelerated midstream development, expanded domestic gas utilisation, and steady implementation of the *Decade of Gas Initiative, unlocking gas for national prosperity.
The NCDMB chief affirmed that Ekpo’s GECF role will further amplify Nigeria’s influence in the global energy market and reinforce its commitment to sustainable gas development.
“The Minister’s tireless advocacy for gas as Nigeria’s transition fuel and his unwavering support for policies that enhance investor confidence and deepen value addition clearly distinguished him as a natural choice for this global role,” the Executive Secretary stated.
Engr. Ogbe also congratulated Dr. Philip Mshelbila, Managing Director of Nigeria LNG Limited on his election as Secretary General of the GECF, describing it as another milestone that underscores Nigeria’s growing influence on the global gas stage. He commended the Minister’s leadership and strategic diplomacy, which contributed to the dual success.
He described the dual victory of both officials as a proud moment for Nigerians and for all stakeholders in the gas value chain.
“The NCDMB acknowledges the Minister’s exceptional support for Nigerian Content development and appreciates the confidence and direction he continues to provide in his role as Co-Chair of the Governing Council,” Ogbe added.
He reaffirmed the Board’s loyalty and partnership under the Minister’s guidance and expressed NCDMB’s commitment to advancing the vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, in strengthening the gas industry and driving sustainable economic growth.
Ogbe wished the Minister success in his new role and assured that NCDMB would support him to realise great achievements in his tenure as President of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF).
