GREATRIBUNETVNEWS–THE National Association of Saki Elite (NASE), Abuja Chapter, has expressed concern over the prevailing security challenges in Nigeria, particularly in the Oke-Ogun region of Oyo State .
KEY ISSUES:
– Growing Sophistication of Criminal Networks : Criminal networks are becoming increasingly sophisticated and bold in their operations.
– Need for Community-Security Synergy: Enhanced collaboration between communities and security agencies is necessary to tackle security challenges.
– Intelligence Sharing: Timely dissemination of intelligence is crucial in preventing and responding to security threats.
– State Government’s Vigilance : The Oyo State Government’s recent intelligence advisory demonstrates its commitment to protecting citizens.
– Citizen Participation : Communities must take ownership of security and work with security agencies to prevent crimes .

Alhaji Kehinde Mustapha
President,
National Association of Saki Elite Abuja Chapter, in a statement appreciate the Nigeria Police Force, the Nigeria Security
and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), local intelligence outfits, and other security
stakeholders who continue to work tirelessly often under difficult conditions to
maintain law and order. Their proactive engagement, surveillance efforts, and rapid
response mechanisms contribute significantly to preventing potential attacks and
safeguarding vulnerable communities.
As concerned sons and daughters of Saki, we call on residents, traditional rulers, youth
groups, market associations, and community-based organisations to heighten vigilance
during this period. Security is a collective responsibility, and the actions of just one
vigilant citizen can prevent a tragedy. We urge everyone to promptly report suspicious
persons, movements, or activities to the nearest security post.
In the interest of public awareness and effective collaboration, we strongly appeal to
the Oyo State Government and the relevant security agencies to release the
photograph and identifying details of the suspect mentioned in the intelligence
memo. Providing this information to the public will enhance community readiness and
significantly support security operations. The ability of residents to easily recognise
and report the individual in question is critical to achieving swift and successful
apprehension.
NASE Abuja Chapter stands firmly committed to partnering with government
authorities, security services, and community structures to strengthen peace and
security across Saki and the entire Oke-Ogun region. We reaffirm our belief that
peacebuilding, intelligence cooperation, and civic engagement remain essential tools
in confronting the rising wave of insecurity across the country.
We encourage all citizens to remain calm but alert, continue their lawful activities, and
refrain from spreading unverified information that may cause panic. Together, through
unity, vigilance, and cooperation, we can protect our communities and ensure that Saki
remains a safe and thriving homeland for all.
