KIDNAPPERS’ BRUTAL ACT: ABUJA LAWYER NWAMAKA CHIGBO MURDERED
GREATRIBUNTVNEWS–THE family of Princess Nwamaka Mediatrix Chigbo, an Abuja-based lawyer, has revealed the horrific circumstances surrounding her murder by unidentified kidnappers in the Nigerian Federal Capital Territory on Monday, January 5, 2026.
KEY ISSUES:
– Abduction and Distress Call : Nwamaka was on the phone with her sister Anthonia when she was abducted. Anthonia heard her sister’s distress cry before the phone went dead.
– Ransom Demand : A male voice demanded a ransom of N3 million, threatening to kill Nwamaka if not paid: “Thunder fire you there, send three million Naira or else we will kill her”.
– Police Involvement : The family contacted the Police Force Public Relations Officer, Inspector General of Police, and FCT Police Commissioner, who linked them to the Commander of the Scorpion Squad.
– Torture and Death: Nwamaka’s family heard her screaming in pain: “I am dying… save me, please send the money, I am dying”. Her lifeless body was found with bruises, swollen eyes, and a cracked skull.
– Investigation : The Police authorities assured the family that the case is under investigation, and the culprits will be apprehended.
Nwamaka was a prominent lawyer and member of several professional organizations, including the Nigerian Bar Association and International Federation of Women Lawyers
The family expresses its gratitude to the Police for their efforts and cooperation so far, and urges the force to ensure that justice is served in Nwamaka’s case.
