“US MILITARY DRAWS UP PLANS FOR NIGERIA INTERVENTION: A LOOK AT THE THREE OPTIONS”
GREATRIBUNETVNEWS–THE United States has outlined three military options for intervention in Nigeria, following allegations of genocide against Christians. The options include:
– Light Option:Partner-enabled operations, where the US military and State Department support Nigerian forces against Boko Haram and other insurgents.
– Medium Option:Drone strikes on militant camps, bases, convoys, and vehicles in northern Nigeria, using MQ-9 Reaper and MQ-1 Predator drones.
– Heavy Option: Deploying an aircraft carrier group to the Gulf of Guinea, with fighter jets and long-range bombers to strike targets deep in northern Nigeria .
American lawmaker Riley Moore accused the Nigerian government of complicity in the attacks on Nigerian Christians. Mr Moore, who represents West Virginia’s 2nd District in Congress, stated that nobody “seems to really care about it”.
