COMMAND RESET: ARMY DROPS THE HAMMER : MASS RESHUFFLE. NEW GOCs. NO EXCUSES.

GREATRIBUNETVNEWS–COAS Waidi Shaibu moves top officers across operations, commands & training to “strengthen operational effectiveness and address emerging security challenges.”
The Army just reloaded.
The Key Issues, In Full:
Bottom Line:
This isn’t routine posting. It’s a wartime signal — new commanders, new mandates, and pressure to deliver results on the ground.
1. The Scale of the Move
“The Nigerian Army has approved a major reshuffle involving senior officers across operational, command, training and staff appointments.”
2. The Official Reason
“In a statement, Waidi Shaibu, chief of army staff (COAS), said the redeployments are aimed at strengthening operational effectiveness and addressing emerging security challenges.”
Under the new postings, Major General WM Dangana has been appointed general officer commanding (GOC) 3 Division and commander of Joint Task Force Operation ENDURING PEACE.
Major General EI Okoro will serve as GOC 6 Division and land component commander of Joint Task Force South-South Operation DELTA SAFE.
The COAS also appointed Major General JR Lar as commander of army headquarters garrison, while Brigadier General OM Oyekola will serve as acting military secretary (army).
Other appointments include Brigadier General IB Buhari as commander of 63 Brigade and Major General SA Emmanuel as commander of the space command.
The army said the reshuffle also covers several training institutions and specialist formations across the country.
Shaibu charged the newly appointed officers to demonstrate professionalism, exemplary leadership and commitment to tackling the country’s security challenges.
