POLICE ARREST THREE IN KANO, RECOVER N129BN IN COUNTERFEIT CURRENCIES

GREATRIBUNETVNEWS–Kano State Police Command has made a significant breakthrough in its fight against economic crimes, arresting three individuals in possession of counterfeit currencies totaling N129,542,826,000 .
The recovered fake currencies include $3,366,000, CFA51,970,000, and N1,443,000.
According to State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the two individuals arrested with the money, as well as the person from whom it was stolen, are currently in police custody, assisting with investigations to uncover the producers of the counterfeit money .
In addition to the counterfeit currencies, the police command has also recovered:
– Firearms and Ammunition*: Six live ammunition
– Vehicles: Three tricycles, eight motorcycles
– Drugs: Three parcels of 175 wraps of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, 250 pieces of diazapam tablets
– Livestock: 278 sheep, seven cattle
The police spokesperson noted that these efforts have not only led to the apprehension of criminals but also serve as a deterrent to potential offenders . The command has successfully tackled major cases of kidnapping, armed robbery, thuggery, and drug dealings.
