NNPC LTD SIGNS 20-YEAR DEAL TO SUPPLY 80MMSCF/d GAS TO Ssonic PETROLEUM’S LNG PLANT

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Ltd has taken a significant step to boost domestic gas utilization, signing a 20-year Gas Sale and Purchase Agreement (GSPA) with Ssonic Petroleum Ltd.
The agreement, executed on March 6, 2025, will see NNPC Ltd’s subsidiary, NNPC Gas Marketing Ltd (NGML), and its partner, NIPCO Gas Ltd, supply 80 million standard cubic feet per day of natural gas to Ssonic Petroleum’s proposed Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) plant in Lagos State.
This deal aligns with NNPC Ltd’s efforts to promote domestic gas utilization for industrial and economic growth, while also supporting the use of gas as a cleaner, cheaper, and more environmentally friendly fuel.
The goal is to reduce global warming and drive Nigeria’s economic prosperity.
