According to the statement, Mrs. John-Paul, 43, is the youngest of five children of Mrs. Olufunmilayo Aduke Adegoke Adelabu. She voluntarily retired from service last year after a distinguished career with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and First Bank Pension Custodian before relocating to Ibadan with her children.
The family disclosed that she had been making arrangements to reunite with her husband, Mr. John-Paul, who had earlier relocated to the United States.
Following the incident, the family said it immediately alerted relevant security and law enforcement agencies, expressing confidence in ongoing efforts to secure the safe release of the victims.
“We are pleased to confirm that security operatives have swung into action and preliminary investigations have commenced in earnest,” the statement read.
The family appealed to the public for understanding, privacy, and cooperation as security agencies intensify efforts to locate and rescue Mrs. John-Paul and her children.
The incident has further heightened concerns over rising cases of kidnapping and insecurity in parts of Oyo State and across the country, prompting renewed calls for authorities to strengthen measures aimed at safeguarding lives and property.
