Department of State Services, on Tuesday, released the passport of the embattled President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Joe Ajaero.
It was gathered that the release of Ajaero’s passport was facilitated through Abubakar Marshall of the Falana chambers on Tuesday.
DSS had on Monday night before releasing Ajaero seized his passport.
NLC counsel, Femi Falana said, “Ajaero’s passport was released today through my colleague, Abubakar Marshall. It has been handed over to him.”
Ajaero, on Monday while on his way to the United Kingdom for an official engagement, was arrested by security operatives at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja and grilled for over 15 hours.
In solidarity with their embattled President, NLC had given the Federal Government a midnight ultimatum.
But the DSS succumbed to pressure and set Ajaero free before the ultimatum elapsed.
