GREATRIBUTVNEWS–Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria – A devastating incident occurred at a Christmas celebration event organized by popular broadcaster, Oriyomi Hamzat in Ibadan, resulting in the feared deaths of over 20 children.
The event, which promised gifts to attendees, was held at a venue in Ibadan and was attended by numerous excited children. However, the gathering turned tragic when a stampede broke out, causing chaos and resulting in the deaths of numerous children.
Many others have been rushed to the University of Ibadan College Hospital, where medical staff are working to save those injured. The exact number of fatalities is yet to be confirmed, but reports suggest that over 20 children may have lost their lives in the tragedy.
Agidigbo’s radio station had organized the event to provide gifts to children during the Christmas season. However, the tragic incident has cast a shadow over the celebrations.
An investigation into the incident is expected to be launched to determine the cause of the stampede and to identify those responsible.
